Pot of Gold!
Hello everyone my name is Vinay V. Suvarna and today I would be talking about the movie 'Tumbbad', a 2018 Indian Hindi-language period horror film. Though I am not a fan of supernatural fiction or horror films, this one really drew my attention right from the start. The movie really had a message to deliver. And that is what made it special.
The film is about Vinayak, a man who thinks he can control the hidden fortune in a decaying castle guarded by monstrous sinsters, in the rural village of Tumbbad. But would he be in control of his own life? or would his life be overpowered by greed?
The film was directed by debutant director Rahi Anil Barve, while Anand Gandhi served as the creative director. It was written by Barve, Prasad, Mitesh Shah and Anand Gandhi.

Lets go ahead and watch the trailer.
The trailer reveals that there is some treasure hidden in a place which is dangerous to get into. But people are too greedy and want to get their hands on it. This is the first supernatural film which I enjoyed watching and I could digest it all as it conveyed a message through the film. The best part of the entire film are it visuals. The locations look so mesmerizing that you wish you could visit this place; beautiful cinematography. The plot was gripping and never bored me even for a moment throughout the film. The background score by Jesper Kyd never lets you out of focus. The sets are beautifully designed and look very realistic; superb art direction. The color palette is maintained soft with a kind of bluish tint throughout the film which enhances the beauty of the locations, and at times when the exaggeration is needed, the colors pop out; elegant color grading. The message that I got from the film was - Desires are good until you have control over it. But if it takes control over you, then life takes an ugly turn. This one is a must watch film for all, regardless of the genres you like. Because it is simply worth a watch.
The film is now available on amazon prime.
