I wish I could live such a life!

Hello everyone my name is Vinay V. Suvarna and today I would be talking about the movie Charlie, a 2015 Malayalam language Romantic drama film. I never knew about this film at the time of release and as a result, I missed watching it in theater and could only watch it at home later.

The film is about a Girl, Tessa, who runs away from home to avoid getting married and rents a room. She finds a sketchbook of the previous occupant, which reveals an incomplete story and decides to find this man.

The movie stars popular Malayalam actors Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy Thiruvothu in the lead roles. This was the first movie which made me a fan of actor Dulquer Salmaan. Later I went on to watch most of his movies before and after.

There is one more actor in this movie who is always so realistic and completely into his character, Soubin Shahir. I have been following him too since then.

There are many other notable actors in this film. The film is directed by Martin Prakkat, who has previously directed 'Best Actor' and 'ABCD'.

Unni R. wrote the story of this film while the screenplay was written by him along with Martin Prakkat.

The cinematography was done by Jomon T. John, a well known Cinematographer who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema. He has also done a couple of Hindi films.

The music was composed by popular Malayalam Music Director Gopi Sundar.

Among all the songs in this film, 'Akale' and 'Chundari Penne' are my favorite. Beautifully composed.

The trailer looks cheerful and colorful at the same time. I have watched this movie like 4 times I guess. Usually if I like any movie, I definitely watch it more than once. And every time I watched this film, it felt as fresh as it felt at the first. The movie takes you back to nature and builds your faith once more in humanity. Simple living free spirit, isn't that how we all should be? A must watch film for all free spirits. Beautiful art direction, soothing music, cinematic frames in every shot. The movie might feel slow at times but the color, visual elements and beautiful locations in every frame never bore you throughout the film. The actors are very much lively throughout. The costume design has played an important part in this film, it describes the character in itself. Dulquer Salmaan's hippie looks and style along with Parvathy Thiruvothu's charm takes us into a world which most of us would desire to live in.
